This weekend was Easter and we decided to play board games before heading out to the bar with Joe & his buddies. I'd had lunch with some girlfriends earlier in the day, so I invited some of the girls to come out and meet us in Dearborn. We played Hedbanz and drank Two Hearted ...probably a little too much since the bar is completely fuzzy and both Joe&I lost our wallets (and promptly found them in the morning). All in all - a successful Easter, I would say.

DIA Day
Mr.U&I had a half day for Good Friday
so we headed downtown to enjoy an afternoon
at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
I'd never been there
and was very excited for the experience.
There was a lot of awesome stuff to see,
my favorites being the middle eastern area
with all the beautiful tile work and colorful art.
It started getting busy as the afternoon wore on,
so we didn't get to see everything we wanted.
We'll just have to make a trip back.
There are a lot of great places
that I really want to discover downtown.
I also really loved this courtyard area.
So beautiful.

Birthday Bowling
This weekend was #BFF's boyfriend's birthday,
so Mr.U&I decided to go bowling
with boyfriend and a bunch of his friends.
We went to his house beforehand for drinks
then headed down the street
for some cosmic bowling.
In an attempt to set up one of Mr.U's buddies
with one of my sorority sisters,
we brought those two along
and the four of us shared a lane.
I was pretty horrible at bowling,
but the boys were entertaining to watch
with their competetive&seriousness.
We had so much fun
that we shut down the bowling ally
and had a waitress snap a big, group shot
just before leaving.
I think he had a fun birthday
and it's always nice
to merge old&new friends.
After, the bowling
the four of us went back to our house
for euchre&drinks.

Rueben Attempt
For St.Patty's Day,
Mr.U's mom boiled a corned beef
and bought all the fixins' for
and bought all the fixins' for
left-over sandwiches.
I've never made a Rueben before,
but I figured I'd give it a shot
since Mr.U loves hot sandwiches.
He said it was one of the best he'd ever had - including any found on restaurant menus - and I doubt he'd go to the trouble of lying, since he doesn't tend to if he doesn't like things. It actually seemed like it could have been a tasty sandwich...
...if you're into meat&cheese.
Final Absolution
I tried this locally brewed beer
on Friday before St. Patrick's Day.
It's so strong.
Oy.
I was pretty toasted after 3.
Tasted great, though.

French Obsession
I really want to perfect the french language.
I really want to live in Paris or Quebec City.
I really want to reach some of my goals in life.
I'm addicted to shopping for french inspired items on amazon, too.

Berry Cupcake
and I've been getting a Cupcake A Day ever since.
It's kitty-corner to my office
and I want to find the perfect flavor to spoil Barbie with
when she comes into Michigan for her wedding.
Today was a shortcake with berry filling & whipped frosting.
Not my favorite...
we'll cross that one off the possibilities list.

Grandpa's Birthday
My grandpa turned 75.
Amazing considering last year at this time
he was in pretty rough shape
in a florida hospital after a massive heartattack,
so we celebrated his birthday
for what seemed like a lifetime.
He had dinners&lunches treats&desserts
for about a week straight.
This past weekend, though, was his actual celebration
with the whole family.
Mom&I made an Italian Layer Cake
and we all brought toppings for homemade pizza
at grandma&grandpa's house.
It was a wonderful time
and we are so incredibly blessed
Making the Drive
I don't drive the Envoy very often
since Mr.U&I drive Gloria to work together,
so when I have a weekend trip to make myself
I jump at the chance the take the Envoy out.
I feel so happy&peaceful
rollin' down the highway
listening&singing along to my music.
.pure happiness.

Eclectic Couch
I acquired bunni's couch after her passing
though the cushion for the pull-out got thrown away
by an obnoxious sorority sister
the couch is still a staple of my current bedroom
(complete with new mattress)
and I've been working to recover parts of it
to make it fit my decorating style a little better.
I found fabric in scrap bin at the craft store
to keep my costs at a minimum
and the eclecticness maximized.
I can't wait to have my own living room
to showcase it in.
